EKOSTERIS®
Process description
EKOSTERIS® is a patented Continuous Steam Sterilization Process developed by
TECHNI GRAU SOLUTIONS LTD for almost all dry products up to 50mm: spices, herbs, dehydrated vegetables, seeds, cereals,
minerals, fibers and other food, feed/pet, cosmetic and pharmaceutical commodities.
EKOSTERIS® process relies on:
• Pre-processing of raw material at feeding unit (PFU) by gently homogenizing, moisturizing and if necessary
warming the raw material before sending the product for sterilization phase.
• Steam sterilization, this step takes place in the Sterilizer chamber unit (SCU) which controls precisely in
real time the necessary amount of steam, the period and temperature of treatment due to a “first in, first out”
conveying system, in absolutely 100% natural way with a scope to kill bacteria at the targeted load reduction.
The same reactor, thanks to innovative design, allows the most homogeneous and soft mixing of the product in order
to have the efficient treatment even for various sensitive products. That is why, vegetables and spices like
mushrooms, onion and garlic flakes can be processed without any issues.
• Precise quality control and monitoring of decontaminated product at the intermediary transfer unit (QCMU)
prior sending to the next step of cooling and conditioning.
• Dry cooling with no condensation inside and outside in the dry cooling unit (DCU) which leads to a good
stabilization of the product by protecting its color, flavor and texture, and also providing a thermal shock to the
microorganisms with precise residence time processing for each particle of the product, thanks again to a “first in,
first out” conveying system and a safe packaging operation without any risk of cross-contamination and losing of
cold energy.
• Conditioning which depends on the customer need again without any risk of cross-contamination.
